I organized and guest-edited this series with Jerome P. Dent, Jr. New Black Surrealisms is the first Black Perspectives series to combine critical writings on black visual culture with avant-garde, black-made media. Black Perspectives is the award-winning blog of the African American Intellectual History Society (AAIHS), and New Black Surrealisms frames black artistic production as an important facet of African American intellectual history.
